The Government of West Bengal announced free food rations to all citizens of the state at the very beginning of the lockdown to ensure food security. Our residents were deprived of this benefit because their homeless and destitute status meant they could not apply for ration cards. We navigated the application process with determination and are very pleased that our residents in Bhalobasha now have ration cards and are receiving their food benefit each month.
